David Godofsky was quoted in a Health Plan Week article discussing a recent House Ways and Means Committee report arguing that the nation’s largest employers would save billions in the next decade if they dropped health coverage and paid the $2,000-per-employee fine levied by the Health Care Reform Act. Godofsky disputed the report’s claims, noting that it “could not be more wrong,” and asserting that the notion that employers who have voluntarily offered coverage for over 60 years would then drop coverage once a fine goes into effect “doesn’t make any sense.”
