Joe Liebeschuetz Named “Top Portfolio Manager” in the San Francisco Daily Journal

Joe Liebeschuetz, partner in the Intellectual Property – Patents/Biotechnology Group in the Silicon Valley office, was named “Top Portfolio Manager” in the San Francisco Daily Journal. The award is made to the top 25 Leading portfolio managers, prosecutors and license specialists in California.

The Daily Journal reviews Liebeschuetz’ experience on the intricacies of patent procedures around the globe. Contrasting the new America Invents Act with procedures in other countries, he said “what is being introduced is a hybrid between the system in the United States and most of the world. When the new laws are fully in effect, there may be more, rather than fewer, complications. It’s not going to be straightforward for people in other countries wanting work done in the United States. The procedures are still going to be quite different.”

The Daily Journal also reviews some of Liebeschuetz’ recent representations, including having worked with companies from their earliest stages. “For one such company, we recently have built up quite a significant portfolio —over 50 applications and 10 issued patents,” he said.
