Rodney Miller, business solutions manager in the firm’s Atlanta office, received an award from his mentee at Year Up’s first annual “Mentors Make Memories” award ceremony for his commitment as a mentor to low-income young adults.
As a mentor, Millar met with his mentee once a month for an eight-month period, assisted in building and accessing professional networks, reviewed resumes and college forms, and encouraged continuous learning and problem solving.
According to Year Up’s mission statement, “[Its] mission is to close the Opportunity Divide by providing urban young adults with the skills, experience and support that will empower them to reach their potential through professional careers and higher education.”
