At Alston & Bird, we are as committed to the integration and development of our lateral attorney as those who join us directly out of law school. In addition to the efforts made within each practice group, we have formal orientation, training and mentoring programs that extend for several months beyond a lawyer's first day. We understand and strive to minimize the stress involved with going through a lateral move, and do everything possible to get our lateral attorneys up and running in every possible way.
This commitment is in evident in our leadership. Ofthe 70 leadership positions available at Alston & Bird, more than half are held by lateral attorneys: four Partners Committee members, five Partners-in-Charge, two Area Coordinators, the firm-wide Diversity Partner, 17 Practice Group Leaders, and five Hiring Partners.
