Overview

Alston & Bird embraces diversity at all levels of the firm and seeks out the best individuals to join our team. Our unique culture is enhanced through diversity not only of race and gender, but by members of the GLBT community, generational differences, cultural differences and talented people of varying backgrounds and experiences.

In order to provide leadership, structure and accountability to our diversity efforts, firm wide Diversity Committees were formed. An overarching Diversity Steering Committee provides direction and oversight to Regional Diversity Committees that, in turn, implement ideas and programs in each office. There is also a Diversity Task Force that promotes diversity within the firm through events, recognition and celebration.

Alston & Bird provides ongoing training and communication to its employees, clients and the community in an effort to promote and encourage diversity in our own ranks, in the legal profession and the community as a whole. Since 2003, every attorney and staff member in the firm has attended our Foundational Diversity Training developed by Roosevelt Thomas Consulting & Training (RTCT). Additionally, a wide variety of forums, seminars and workshops are available to attorneys, staff and clients throughout the year.
