Drew is a partner in the Litigation and Trial Practice Group in the Los Angeles office with a nationwide practice. Drew represents large corporations and individuals in pre-trial litigation, high stakes arbitration, and federal and state court jury trials involving contract, tort, intellectual property and antitrust matters. Recent cases include putative state and nationwide consumer class actions in federal and state courts, class action arbitrations, dealer and distributor termination cases, breach of contract and breach of fiduciary duty matters.

Representative Experience

  • Obtained dismissal of all claims in putative nationwide class action alleging defective HD DVR and exposure of more than $400M (California).
  • Putative nationwide class action arbitration involving breach of dealer contract dispute. In connection with this matter, Drew was involved in drafting an amicus brief to the U. S. Supreme Court and a successful appeal to the California Supreme Court (California).
  • Lead counsel in putative nationwide consumer class action matter in federal court, full defense victory on motion to dismiss (Ohio).
  • Lead counsel in statewide consumer class action alleging defective products and improper taxation. Demurrer to all claims sustained.
  • Breach of fiduciary duty matter where entire case was dismissed based on Anti-SLAPP motion argued by Drew (California).
  • Breach of fiduciary duty matter for professional services firm involving $100 million+ claims in federal courts (California and New York).
  • Lead counsel in putative nationwide consumer class action based on alleged false advertising re promotional program (Illinois).
  • Lead counsel in consumer fraud class action based on practice of debiting credit card (New Mexico).
  • Lead counsel in dealer termination arbitration in which the client defeated all claims, prevailed on its counterclaims and won attorneys’ fees (California).
  • Lead counsel in distributor termination action in federal court (Tennessee).
  • Breach of turbocharger development contract involving claims of $100M+ (California arbitration).
  • Antitrust claim involving computer industry. Full defense verdict after three month jury trial (N.D. Cal)
  • Rule 10(b)(5) and breach of fiduciary duty securities fraud suit. Obtained $30M judgment for client in jury trial (C.D. Cal).
