Nanotechnologies/Emerging Pollutants
Alston & Bird’s attorneys are tracking the move toward more direct federal regulation of nanotechnologies through participation in the American Bar Association’s white papers on the appropriate control of the use of nanomaterials in commerce. Likewise, the focus on regulation of the presence of emerging pollutants such as endocrine disruptors and pharmaceuticals is an area we are monitoring closely for clients, and in 2007 we submitted an amicus brief on behalf of a municipal discharger defending a permit’s lack of specific control of pharmaceuticals.
