Why did you choose to practice law and how did you decide to practice in your particular area of law?
I enjoy healthcare litigation and investigations because I’m always learning—every day there are new regulations, novel legal theories, and developing healthcare issues to address. That’s one of the reasons I chose to practice law; this career offers the opportunity for lifelong learning. In the healthcare space, in particular, we serve clients who support the healthcare system in a number of ways. Their work inspires and motivates mine.
What do you like best about being Hiring Partner?
I enjoy meeting candidates and talking to them about their interests and goals. It is rewarding to see summer associates engage with our cases and find ways to contribute.

If there was one piece of (career) advice you could provide to a law student, what would it be?
Make connections with attorneys you meet and take time to learn about their practice and areas of expertise. The more you engage with others, ask questions, and spend time thinking critically about areas of interest, the more satisfying your legal practice will be.
What was the most memorable recruiting experience for you personally as a law student?
I could say a Segway tour, but the truth is that I really enjoyed some of the lunches I shared with attorneys as a summer associate; those were great opportunities to connect with lawyers several years ahead of me and learn about their practice areas and paths to success.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time?
I am an avid reader and enjoy fiction and non-fiction. I also love planning adventures with my kids and husband—from trips to our local farmers market to international travel.

Women attorneys who have blazed trails—from Justice Sandra Day O’Connor to the judge for whom I clerked—inspire me.
