Derivatives
Our derivatives practice focuses on derivatives as a strategic business tool. We assist our clients in all aspects of derivatives, including structuring of products and transactions, regulatory and insolvency considerations, documentation and dispute resolution. Our derivatives practice covers a wide variety of products, from plain vanilla to complex.
EXPERIENCE
Our derivatives attorneys have experience as both external counsel and internal counsel for dealers, end users and derivatives exchanges, and we are familiar with the organizational structures which have been built around derivatives businesses. As a result, we can anticipate the issues and roadblocks in moving transactions forward to completion.
Our attorneys also have experience in conducting and responding to government investigations and the uses and potential abuses of derivatives. We have developed and reviewed policies and procedures to manage the legal, regulatory and documentation risk associated with the use of derivatives products, and we have worked with clients to develop operational procedures for complex and dynamic derivatives-based investment strategies.
RECOGNITION
Our attorneys are members of numerous ISDA committees and subcommittees, including the Equity Derivatives Committee and Fund-Linked Definitions Working Group, the Credit Derivatives Market Practice Committee and Asset Backed Securities Subcommittee, the Energy, Commodities and Developing Products Committee and the Emissions Trading Working Group.
