Alston & Bird Ranked 24th On FORTUNE’S 2012 “Best Companies to Work For” List
The national law firm of Alston & Bird LLP announced today that it has been ranked 24th on FORTUNE’s 2012 “100 Best Companies to Work For” list. Alston & Bird is the first and only law firm to make the list 13 consecutive years. The list and related stories will appear in the February issue of FORTUNE.
“I am delighted Alston & Bird has been named to the FORTUNE list for the 13th year in a row,” said Richard R. Hays, managing partner of Alston & Bird. “We stand by our core values—teamwork, firm loyalty, diversity, individual satisfaction, fairness and professional development—and the recognition by FORTUNE proves we are living them. When the success of a business is predicated on the service its employees provide, it is paramount to create a workplace that rewards employee dedication—personally, professionally and financially. The firm’s committees for diversity, investment, sustainability, good health and space include both attorneys and staff. Our firm will continue to invest in its employees and foster an environment that benefits their growth and the success of our clients.”
“It’s a tremendously gratifying honor,” said Cathy Benton, chief human resources officer at Alston & Bird and leader of the FORTUNE submission through the years. “We are always looking to identify areas for improvement to ensure we maintain a culture that incents the best service for the firm’s clients. This ranking is a reflection of our leadership’s commitment to providing a positive workplace and our employees’ dedication to their clients.”
To pick the 100 Best Companies to Work For, FORTUNE partners with the Great Place to Work Institute to conduct the most extensive employee survey in corporate America; 280 firms participated in this year's survey. More than 246,000 employees at those companies responded to a survey created by the institute, a global research and consulting firm operating in 45 countries around the world. Two-thirds of a company's score is based on the results of the institute's Trust Index survey, which is sent to a random sample of employees from each company. The survey asks questions related to their attitudes about management's credibility, job satisfaction and camaraderie. Any company that is at least five years old and has more than 1,000 U.S. employees is eligible.
