Fourth Annual Fraud and Forensic Accounting Education Conference

Scott Hilsen presented "Avoiding Legal Pitfalls in Fraud Investigations" on May 14, 10:10am - 11:10am, during this conference hosted by Georgia Southern University.  The goal of the conference was to help accountants, attorneys, academics and students develop or augment valuable professional skills in the specialized field of fraud examination and forensic accounting.  Speakers included forensic investigators from the private sector, universities and government agencies including the FBI, FDIC and the U.S. Attorney's office.  The sessions covered a wide range of topics such as Ponzi schemes, the Madoff scandal, mortgage fraud, interviewing techniques and fraud detection.
