BJ Shannon presented this webinar sponsored by the United States Association of Importers of Textiles and Apparel. The Consumer Product Safety Commission's Publicly Available Consumer Product Information Database was scheduled to become fully operational in March 2011. This webinar gave an overview of the Database and discussed what companies should expect when the Consumer Product Safety Commission begins publishing reports of harm. The presentation explained what information would be published in the Database, who may submit reports of harm, and who may comment on reports. With a focus on the textile and apparel industry, the presentation covered how the Database rules affect companies and who may be left out of the process. The presentation also covered timelines for reporting, commenting, and publication, and discussed claims about confidential business information and materially inaccurate information.
