Jeff Belkin was quoted in a Bloomberg BusinessWeek article discussing how stimulus spending has been slowed by staff shortages in the federal agencies charged with distributing the funds. “The stimulus bill added a lot of money that could be spent, but the same number of people is there to administer it,” said Belkin. “There’s just that much more toothpaste to squeeze out of the same-size tube.”
He continued: “People just need to understand that the recovery act is going to be a spending process that really is a four-year process.”
