Jennifer Meyerowitz is a senior associate in the Bankruptcy, Reorganization and Workouts Group of Alston & Bird. She received her J.D. in 1999 from Emory University School of Law, where she was a semi-finalist in the RWA Oral Advocacy Competition, served as a Deans Fellow, was the director of Student Legal Services and was the executive notes & comments editor of the Bankruptcy Developments Journal. Ms. Meyerowitz received her B.A., with distinction, in political science and Judaic studies from the University of Michigan in 1995. She also spent a year studying at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She is recognized as among Georgia's "Legal Elite."
Ms. Meyerowitz is on the board of directors of the International Women’s Insolvency and Restructuring Confederation (IWIRC) and is the chair of the Membership Services Committee. Ms. Meyerowitz is the past co-chair, member of board of directors and co-founder of the Georgia Network of the IWIRC. She is also on the board of directors of the Atlanta Bar Association and on the board of directors of the Bankruptcy Section and the Women In Profession Section of the Atlanta Bar Association. In addition, Ms. Meyerowitz serves on the Advisory Board to the Bankruptcy Developments Journal at Emory School of Law. Ms. Meyerowitz is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the American Bankruptcy Institute.

Ms. Meyerowitz is the vice chair of Everybody Wins! Atlanta, an organization dedicated to improving children’s literacy and on the board of directors of the Anti-Defamation League Southeast Region. Ms. Meyerowitz has been a volunteer for the Truancy Intervention Project since 1995, and was nominated for the Volunteer of the Year Award in 2008. In addition, Ms. Meyerowitz volunteers her time with various other community organizations, and she has served on various firm committees including the hiring committee and the Pro Bono committee, among others.
In 2007, Ms. Meyerowitz was the recipient of the firm’s F.M. Bird Award given to an attorney who contributes exemplary pro bono service to non-profit organizations, associations, corporations, including charitable, religious, civic, community, governmental, or educational organizations.
