John Jordak is chair of the Securities Litigation Group. He concentrates his practice on securities and complex commercial litigation with a particular emphasis on class action defense. John focuses on defending shareholder actions and D&O claims, including those brought under the federal securities laws.

John's practice includes jury trials, appellate work, arbitrations and alternative dispute resolution. He has litigated throughout the country, including federal and/or state courts in Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Michigan, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. In addition to his litigation work, he also counsels companies regarding securities disclosure and corporate governance. John has served as counsel to special litigation committees formed in response to shareholder derivative demands.

John has authored articles in various publications including Corporate Governance Advisor, Corporate Counsel Weekly, The Daily Deal, and Banking and Financial Services Policy Report. He has also lectured at various seminars on, among other topics, securities regulation and litigation. From 2005-2010, John has been listed in Super Lawyers magazine.

John received his J.D., with distinction, from the Emory University School of Law, where he was managing editor of the Emory International Law Review and received an American Jurisprudence Award in contracts. Mr. Jordak received his A.B., cum laude, from Duke University, where he was a North Carolina Scholars Scholarship recipient for four years.

John is active in the community. He serves on the Emory Law Alumni Board and the Advisory Board to the Emory International Law Review.  He is the Chair of the Local School Council for Morningside Elementary School.  John also serves on the Duke University Alumni Admissions Advisory Committee.
