Jon Chase is a senior policy advisor and member of the firm’s Energy Infrastructure & Climate practice. With a focus on renewable energy issues, Jon provides policy and political expertise on a variety of energy issues, assisting clients in the development, design and advocacy of their legislative and regulatory priorities.
Jon has more than 15 years of experience in legislative and advocacy work in Washington, D.C., with a primary focus on energy, tax, climate change, and appropriations issues. He began his career on Capitol Hill, spending four years on the staff of Senator Dianne Feinstein. He then shifted to the House of Representatives to work for Rep. Tom Allen, handling energy, transportation, agriculture, and budget issues, and was Rep. Allen’s lead staff for the Oversight & Government Reform Committee. After departing the Hill, he worked for an international consulting firm focused on clean and low-emission energy technologies, including renewables and nuclear power.
Prior to joining the firm, Jon spent seven years with the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA), advocating industry priorities before Congress, the administration, and federal agencies. In additional to his federal representation at AWEA, he was also the director of state legislative affairs, and managed and served as treasurer of WindPAC, the industry’s political action committee.
