Karol Mason, a partner in the Atlanta and Raleigh offices, is chair of the Public Finance Group and a former member of the firm's management committee. She concentrates her practice in the area of public and project finance. Ms. Mason has a nationally recognized practice specialty in financings of student housing and academic facilities at public and private colleges and universities and has developed significant expertise in public and nonprofit hospital financings. She regularly serves as bond counsel for the States of Georgia and North Carolina. She is principal counsel for Georgia’s Private Colleges and Universities Authority and serves as general counsel for the Atlanta Development Authority.
For the past two years, Ms. Mason has been a presenter at the Annual Conference of the Association of University Real Estate Officers, Southern Regional Conferences of the Society for College and University Planning and the Southern Association of College and University Business Officers, most recently on "Public/Private Partnerships: Lessons Learned and Best Practices,” and previously on “Extreme Makeovers in Campus Housing — Ten Universities’ Approach” and also on “Planning Partnerships to Deliver Facilities Solutions.”
