Kevin Belote is an associate in the Intellectual Property Patents – Electrical & Computer Science Group. Mr. Belote focuses his practice on the solicitation of patents with an emphasis on electrical and computer-related technologies. His practice further includes patentability opinions, infringement and invalidity studies, and due diligence evaluations.
Mr. Belote is registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He received his J.D., with honors, in 2008 from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Law, where he served as a member of the North Carolina Journal of Law and Technology and as an officer of the Carolina Intellectual Property Law Association. Mr. Belote received a B.S. in computer engineering, a B.S. in computer science and a minor in Spanish from North Carolina State University in 2001, where he graduated summa cum laude and was the class valedictorian.
Prior to law school, Mr. Belote provided technical support for a software company located in Granada, Spain, and later worked for several years as a software engineer for a company that provides live statistics and graphics for nationally televised sporting events.
