Trade Agreements
The International Trade & Regulatory Group frequently advises sovereign governments and private sector multinationals on the negotiation and compliance aspects of bilateral and multilateral trade agreements. Our advisors benefit from first-hand negotiating experience gained at the Office of the United States Trade Representative and the Department of State.
We have advised sovereign governments from Asia and the Middle East on the negotiation of bilateral free trade agreements with the United States, on policy planning related to trade and investment liberalization and on the relationship between sovereign regulatory authority and the global drive to open markets through aggressive negotiation.
Similarly, we have provided counsel to multinational manufacturers, service providers and investors on compliance issues and disputes involving the World Trade Organization, as well as on adapting corporate and investment strategies to the opportunities presented by the advance of trade liberalization in major markets worldwide.
