Mark Kelly is a member of the Corporate Transactions & Securities Group in the firm’s Charlotte office. Mark advises clients in mergers and acquisitions, including leveraged buyouts, public company acquisitions, private financings and recapitalizations.
Mr. Kelly leads the firm’s private equity practice and has represented private equity firms and their portfolio companies since the late 1980s in numerous equity and debt financings, leveraged buyouts and exit transactions. He has advised private equity sponsors such as The Carlyle Group in its $3.9 billion acquisition of CommScope, a global leader in infrastructure solutions for communications networks, and in its acquisition and subsequent sale of OpenLink Financial, a software provider for participants in the global commodity, energy, agribusiness and financial markets; Pamlico Capital in its acquisition and subsequent sale of American Renal Associates, a national provider of kidney dialysis services; Ridgemont Equity Partners in its acquisition of Unite Private Networks, a provider of high-bandwidth fiber-based communications networks and related services; and The Gores Group in its acquisition of Alpheus Comunications, one of the largest fiber and network data center operators in Texas.
