William M. D'Antignac

Michael D’Antignac focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation and has successfully represented both plaintiffs and defendants in commercial disputes. He has also successfully represented defendants in catastrophic personal injury matters. Before joining Alston & Bird, Mr. D’Antignac served as a law clerk to The Honorable William T. Moore, Jr. of the United States District Court for the Southern District of Georgia.

Michael received his J.D. from the University of Georgia School of Law in 2001, where he served as a notes editor for the Georgia Law Review. He received his B.A, cum laude, in philosophy from the College of Charleston in 1997.

Representative Experience

  • Counsel for the former CEO of one of the world’s largest banks in civil and criminal litigation arising out of the acquisition of a $3.5 billion bond portfolio formerly held by a defunct California insurer.
  • Counsel for a boat manufacturer in defense of a wrongful death action alleging that the negligent design of boat and boat motor allowed a running motor to be propelled into the boat and decapitate a passenger. After a six-day trial, the jury returned a defense verdict.
  • Counsel for one of the country’s largest hotel real estate investment trusts in its pursuit of contract claims that resulted in the recovery of $2.5 million.
  • Lead trial counsel in contract litigation for one of the country’s largest rural development specialty lenders for small businesses.
