Michael Hartley is a partner in the firm’s Securities Litigation and Litigation & Trial Practice Groups, and the firm’s Insurance Litigation and Regulation Group. Mike represents public and private companies and their directors and officers in regulatory actions and investigations, federal securities class actions, derivative litigation, shareholder disputes and corporate control disputes. He also regularly represents insurers in policyholder litigation and counseling matters, including bad faith claims and coverage disputes involving E&O, D&O, professional liability, intellectual property and employer liability matters. Mike has an active trial practice in these matters, as well as representing domestic companies in sourcing disputes with foreign suppliers.

- Mueller Industries, et al. v. Xiamen Lota, et al. (C.D. Cal.) (lead trial counsel for a public company plaintiff in a civil RICO/bribery case).
- Grace v. McCormick, et al. (Orange County Superior Court) (lead trial counsel for a defendant buyer in a stockholder tender offer dispute).
- Chevron U.S.A. v. FGR Corporation #1 (C.D. Cal.) (lead trial counsel for the plaintiff in a trademark/distributor termination action).
- Ohkubo v. Antara Biosciences, Inc. (N.D. Cal.) (lead trial counsel for a defendant biotech company and officers and directors in an international investment fraud case).
- Pokrass v. DIRECTV, INC. (C.D. Cal) (counsel for the defendant in a purported national consumer class action challenging various billing practices).
