Mike Tennant is Senior Counsel in the firm's Environmental & Land Development group and the Real Estate Litigation practice. He focuses on governmental regulation of the use and enjoyment of real estate, including land use, zoning, eminent domain, property rights, local government, ad valorem tax, telecommunications, development regulations and real estate litigation. He has extensive experience in large, mixed-use, smart growth developments.
Mr. Tennant has been recognized for his extensive experience in land use and zoning by Best Lawyers in America. He was former chair of the Council for Quality Growth, a leading organization representing the real estate development constituency.
Mike received his undergraduate degree from Auburn University and a law degree from Mercer University. He is active in the community, participating as chairman of the Board of Trustees of Leadership Gwinnett and a graduate of the Regional Leadership Institute. He was named 1999 Citizen of the Year for Gwinnett County by the Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce. He was recently named to the Founding Board of Trustees for the Georgia Gwinnett College Foundation and also is a Fellow of the Georgia Bar Foundation.
