Mitch Mitchelson concentrates on defense of government investigations, internal corporate investigations, false claims act litigation and corporate legal compliance. Mitch is the former leader of the firm’s White Collar Crime Group and is the current chair of the firm’s False Claims Act Working Group. He is a former federal prosecutor who has represented corporations and individuals in significant and high-profile government investigations across the United States. Mitch serves as the co-chair of the Southeast Subcommittee of the ABA Committee on White Collar Crime.
Mitch was named in the 2009 edition of The Best Lawyers in America, as well as The International Who’s Who of Business Crime Lawyers 2008. In 2007, he was named in Who’s Who Legal: Georgia. In 2006, Mitch was named one of Georgia’s “Legal Elite” by Georgia Trend magazine. He is featured as one of the leading lawyers for white collar crime and health care in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business and listed in Super Lawyers magazine. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the State Bar of California and has authored numerous published articles on government investigations and compliance. Mitch has appeared as a legal analyst on CNN’s Wolf Blitzer Reports and in the print media, including The National Law Journal and The Denver Post, commenting on high-profile government investigations. Mitch is the designated Georgia legal contact for the Health Care Compliance Association and a member of the American Health Lawyers Association, and currently serves on Georgia Hospital Association’s RAC Task Force.
