Alan Kanzer is a former co-chair of the firm's International Litigation Group. He is also a member of the firm's Antitrust and Government Investigations Groups, and concentrates his practice on international litigation and arbitration, antitrust and other complex commercial litigation. Mr. Kanzer is a member of the American Bar Association's Antitrust, and International Litigation sections, as well as the Bar Association of the City of New York.
- Currently defending a major German chemical company in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia in the third of a series of federal price-fixing cases in the ferrosilicon industry.
- Currently defending an Austrian bank and a Hungarian company in Alien Tort Claims actions and claims for other international torts in federal courts in the District of Columbia and the Seventh Circuit.
- Successfully obtained dismissals of Alien Tort Claims actions and claims for other international torts against German companies in the District of Columbia and Second and Third Circuits.
- Lead attorney in the defense of a domestic plastics additives manufacturer in four related price-fixing antitrust class actions in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the California Superior Court.
- Recently successfully defended a foreign, quasi-governmental corporation in a commercial dispute in the Southern District of New York involving the refining of high purity gold.
- Successfully obtained dismissals of Alien Tort Claims actions and claims for other international torts against companies in federal courts in the District of Columbia and Second and Third Circuits.
