David Easwaran specializes in patent preparation, prosecution and portfolio management. He has worked with and understands the varying goals of a wide variety of clients, from multinational corporations, technology startups and academic institutions to individual inventors. David is routinely sought out by clients and peers for his insight regarding patent prosecution strategy and patent subject matter eligibility.
David has prepared and prosecuted patent applications in a wide variety of technology including telecommunications, software, business methods, display devices (LCD and LED), optical projectors, printers, photolithography, nanotechnology, geology and oil and gas exploration.
Prior to entering private practice, David spent several years working as a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), where he examined business method and software-implemented patent applications relating to a wide variety of industries. During this time, he gained a deep understanding of USPTO policy and procedure and evaluated patent eligibility issues during a time of significant change in the law. These experiences inform his practice today.
