Emily Hootkins is an associate in the ERISA Litigation Group. Her practice experience includes assisting with the defense of class actions that involve employer securities in 401(k) plans and the defense of plan sponsors and fiduciaries in actions for breach of fiduciary duty under ERISA. Ms. Hootkins also has experience defending against individual ERISA claims involving disability and life insurance.
In 2011, Ms. Hootkins graduated, cum laude, from Harvard Law School. While at Harvard, she was awarded Dean's Scholar Prizes in bankruptcy and corporate reorganization, evidence, and trusts and estates. Ms. Hootkins was a member of the Journal of Law and Technology and the Consumer Bankruptcy Pro Bono Project. She received her B.A. from Emory University in 2008.
