Evan Drutman is a partner in the firm's Global Finance & Debt Products Group, practicing out of the New York office. His practice focuses on structured finance, asset-based lending and complex financial transactions. He has represented almost every market participant in securitizations of mortgages, home equity loans, commercial loans and other asset classes, utilizing virtually every tax and cashflow structure and form of credit enhancement, including derivatives. He has counseled Fortune 500 companies and boutique financing companies in whole loan transactions, repurchase agreements and various structured products, including advising on the litigation and bankruptcy implications of transactions.
Evan is principal outside counsel to a major rating agency, advising on structures, methodologies, criteria, legal comfort, regulatory compliance and corporate governance.
Recently, he has counseled clients with respect to the legislation and regulation of the financial markets, including the Dodd-Frank Act, and he has served on numerous working groups for the American Securitization Forum.
Evan has a professional culinary degree from LaVarenne Culinary School in France (1992).
