Fahad Saghir’s practice is primarily focused on qualified defined benefit and defined contribution plans, including single-employer, multiemployer, and multiple employer plans. As an Associate of the Society of Actuaries and a former retirement actuary, Fahad has a deep understanding of the legal and actuarial issues surrounding retirement plans. Fahad advises clients on a variety of issues facing plan sponsors and fiduciaries, including plan amendments, plan administration, nondiscrimination, funding, and benefit restriction rules under the Internal Revenue Code and ERISA. Fahad is a regular speaker at the annual Enrolled Actuaries Conference on various topics related to pension plans.
Fahad also actively advises clients on the ERISA-related aspects of structured finance, securitization, and other complex asset-based financing transactions across a broad spectrum of asset classes, including but not limited to auto loans, credit card receivables, consumer loans, mortgage servicing rights, merchant cash advance receivables, residential mortgage loans, small business loans and timeshare loans. He counsels market participants on plan asset compliance and ERISA fiduciary and prohibited transaction issues.
