Lisa Bugni is a partner in the firm's Securities Litigation Group. Her practice focuses on a variety of securities litigation matters and other complex commercial and business-related litigation. Ms. Bugni has experience in securities fraud class actions, shareholder derivative suits, M&A litigation and post-closing transaction disputes.
Ms. Bugni received her J.D., magna cum laude, in 2003 from the University of Miami School of Law, where she was elected to membership in the Order of the Coif and served as articles and comments editor for the University of Miami Inter-American Law Review. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, in American studies from the University of Notre Dame in 2000.
Ms. Bugni is admitted to practice before the state courts of Georgia and Florida, the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit and the United States District Courts for the Northern District of Georgia and the Southern District of Florida. She is a member of the Georgia Bar Association, the Florida Bar Association and the Atlanta Bar Association.
- Obtained dismissal with prejudice of a securities class action brought against an international power company and its directors and officers.
- Prevailed in a post-closing transaction dispute for a large home improvement specialty retailer.
- Counsel to a large marketer, seller and distributor of well-recognized, branded consumer products in a variety of complex commercial disputes, including securities litigation and contract disputes.
- Counsel in several securities class actions to companies, and directors and officers, including an international power company, a large packaging company, a consumer products company and a health care company.
- Counsel in several M&A litigation matters to directors and officers, including a bank holding company, a health care company, a building products company and an international power company.
