Mark Steele is the director of case and practice support, Finance & Accounting in Alston & Bird’s Special Resources Unit. Mark provides accounting and finance advisory support services to the firm’s attorneys, such as analysis related to fairness opinions, GAAP accounting, business valuations, forensic accounting, financial reporting policies and accounting, and auditing enforcement releases. Mark is regularly a part of Alston & Bird teams that represent clients in the defense of securities class action suits, as well as boards of public companies in connection with special investigations.
Prior to joining Alston & Bird, Mark served as CFO and senior vice president, Finance and Treasury, for several private and public companies where he was responsible for, among other things, managing accounting, treasury, credit and capital market functions; risk management; domestic and international tax planning; cash management; investor relations; and regulatory reporting.
Mark received a Master of Accountancy in 1982 from Georgia State University and a B.S. in chemistry in 1979 from Emory University.
