Nicole Rivas has handled a variety of employment litigation matters, including discrimination and harassment claims, wrongful termination actions and wage and hour disputes. Nicole has also represented employers before a host of administrative agencies, including the California Labor Commissioner, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the Department of Fair Employment and Housing and the Employment Development Department.
In addition to her strong litigation background, Nicole has extensive experience in employment counseling. Drawing from her years of practice, Nicole has developed a comprehensive guideline for human resources professionals that covers everything from hiring and terminations to conducting good faith investigations.
Building on her experience in more traditional aspects of employment law, Nicole specializes in ERISA litigation, and has successfully defended ERISA matters through trial.
Nicole has appeared on television as an expert in employment law and has published several articles, including "Romance Languages,"(an expose on prophylactic measures designed to prevent sexual harassment claims), in both the Los Angeles Daily Journal and the National Law Journal, and "Workplace Violence," published in the National Law Journal.
Nicole received her J.D. from the University of Southern California in 1995 and her B.A. from the University of Southern California in 1992.
