Paul Donohue is a co-chair of the firm’s Corporate and Finance Groups. He focuses his practice on advising financial institutions in connection with various financing transactions, including structured finance, securitizations, syndicated lending and restructurings. He also regularly counsels servicers and advisers of CMBS and other securitized loan portfolios in connection with post-securitization transactions and restructurings.
Mr. Donohue is recognized by his peers as one of the foremost lawyers in his area of expertise, including a ranking in Chambers USA: America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, and is ranked as one of “The Best Lawyers in America.” In addition, he has been listed in both Super Lawyers and Business Leader's 2009 NC Legal Guide. Paul is an active member of the CRE Finance Council and is a member of the Loan Syndicating Trading Association (LSTA). He frequently lectures on various topics relating to financial instruments.
Mr. Donohue received his undergraduate degree from the College of the Holy Cross in 1987. He received his J.D., with honors, in 1990 from St. John’s University, where he served as executive notes and comments editor on the St. John's Law Review.
- Counsel to bank syndicates in domestic and international secured and unsecured credit facilities including acquisitions, term, letter of credit and revolving credit facilities.
- Counsel to financial institutions in development and execution of new products relating to structured finance vehicles.
- Counsel to CMBS master and special servicers of securitized loan portfolios, including securitizations, defeasances, mezzanine and seller financings, and workouts and restructurings.
- Counsel to one of the nation’s largest financial institutions in connection with the liquidation of an investment fund managed by an affiliate.
- Counsel to financial institution in connection with various letter of credit financing supporting various bond facilities.
- Counsel to financial institutions in connection with various financing arrangements supported by credit default swaps and other credit enhancement instruments.
- Counsel to financial institutions in analyzing risks associated with various securitizations and other off-balance sheet financings.
