Richard Hays is the Managing Partner of Alston & Bird. Since 2008, he has led the strategic direction of the firm and played a key role in its growth and performance. Richard chairs the firm’s Administrative Committee and leads the firm’s 13 offices across the United States and in London and Brussels. Before his election, Richard served as the firm’s Financial Partner and also headed the firm’s Litigation & Trial Practice Group. He has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America®.
Richard received his undergraduate degree in 1982 from Harvard, a masters in 1984 from Edinburgh University as a Rotary Scholar, and his law degree in 1986 from Vanderbilt, where he was the notes editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review.
