Sarah Whitlock is a senior associate in the firm’s Financial Services & Products Group. Sarah focuses her practice on private investment vehicles, registered investment companies, federal and state securities regulation, derivatives, and corporate governance and regulatory matters.
Sarah received her J.D. in 2008 from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was a member of the articles review board for the Virginia Journal of Social Policy and the Law. She received a B.A., with honors, from Harvard College in 2003.

This advisory discusses a recent SEC guidance update that clarifies the filing requirements for certain electronic communications by mutual funds and other registered investment companies (“investment companies”). Specifically, the guidance from the Division of Investment Management (“IM Guidance”) seeks to make clear the obligations of investment companies with respect to real-time electronic materials posted on their social media sites (“interactive content”).
