Wes Achey is a member of the firm's Intellectual Property Litigation Group. Mr. Achey's practice includes all areas of intellectual property litigation and counseling, with a particular emphasis on patent litigation and enforcement. He has represented clients in patent infringement lawsuits in federal district courts across the United States, including cases involving telecommunications, computer software and various mechanical devices. He is a member of the Georgia Bar and is also registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Mr. Achey received his J.D., magna cum laude, in 2004 from the Georgia State University School of Law, where he served as associate editor of the Georgia State Law Review. Mr. Achey earned his B.S. in industrial engineering in 2001 from the Georgia Institute of Technology, graduating with honors.

- In the Matter of Certain Personal Data and Mobile Communications Devices and Related Software, Investigation No. 337-TA-710, United States International Trade Commission; represented Nokia in patent infringement litigation against Apple over patents relating to computer and smart phone technology.
- Move, Inc. v. REAL Estate Alliance Limited, Civil Action No. 2:07-cv-2185, United States District Court for the Central District of California; represents Move as the declaratory judgment plaintiff in patent infringement litigation over methods for locating real properties for sale in specific geographic areas.
- Mohawk Industries, Inc., et al. v. Interface, Inc., Civil Action No. 4:07-cv 212, United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia; represented Mohawk against a competitor for falsely marking its products with inapplicable patent numbers.
- Qualcomm v. Nokia Corporation, et al., Civil Action No. 2:07-CV-111, United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas; defended the world’s largest manufacturer of cell phones in patent infringement litigation.
- Faus Group, Inc. v. Mohawk Industries, Inc., Civil Action No. 1:05 CV 2373, United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia; represented Mohawk in defense of a claim for patent infringement involving laminated floor covering.
- Silver Line Building Products Corp. v. YKK AP America, Inc., Civil Action No. 2:05-CV-03181, United States District Court for the District of New Jersey; represented YKK’s aluminum products division in defense of a claim for patent infringement related to storm-proof windows.
- Collins & Aikman Floorcoverings, Inc., et al. v. Interface, Inc., Civil Action No. 4:05-CV-133, United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, Rome Division; represented Mohawk in a declaratory judgment action (along with two other carpet manufacturers) against a fourth carpet company over patent infringement related to carpet tile.
