Jesse Jauregui was recently appointed to the Board of Directors of the Mexican American Bar Foundation, a charitable corporation dedicated to providing financial assistance to men and women of Chicano and Latino heritage who intend to pursue careers in the law. Jauregui, who practices in Alston & Bird’s Los Angeles office, has supported the organization for several years.
“Jesse’s appointment to the Board of the Mexican American Bar Foundation reflects his ongoing commitment to the advancement of the Latino community in the legal profession. His contributions to the organization certainly underscore Alston & Bird’s efforts to promote and encourage diversity within our own firm and the legal industry at large,” said Tom Wingard, partner-in-charge of Alston & Bird’s Los Angeles office.
As a board member of the Mexican American Bar Foundation, Jauregui will join attorneys, judges and other elected officials in awarding scholarships to students attending American Bar Association accredited law schools in Los Angeles County, including Loyola University, Pepperdine University, Southwestern University, University of California, Los Angeles and the University of Southern California. Since 1991, the Mexican American Bar Foundation has awarded more than $500,000 in scholarships.
“I look forward to working with the board to further the Mexican American Bar Foundation’s long term goals and to continue to support and mentor minority students as they pursue careers in the law,” added Jauregui.
