Senator Dole will be on hand on Saturday, November 15, as the Wal-Mart Foundation will donate $50,000 to the Honor Flight Network, a program which brings World War II veterans to Washington, D.C. to see the memorial built in their honor. Nearly 200 Honor Flight veterans are expected to visit the World War II Memorial on that day.

On Thursday, November 6, Senator Dole spoke before clients and attorneys about the outcome of the presidential and congressional elections, and how the results will impact public policy. The presentation, which occurred at the firm’s Washington, D.C. office, was sent via live video feed to each Alston & Bird office from coast to coast. The former Majority Leader of the U.S. Senate offered his unique and insightful take on the “historic” election of Senator Barack Obama to the presidency, as well as the congressional victories by the Democratic party as a whole.
Senator Dole spoke about the transition in the executive branch from one party to another, and the need for bipartisanship in the process.

At 10:00 AM on Thursday, November 6, Senator Dole and will discuss the outcome of the presidential and congressional elections and how the results will impact public policy at Alston & Bird’s D.C. office. The number of guests will be limited, and participants will have the opportunity to ask questions.

| Oct. 15 |
On October 16, 2008, Alston & Bird Special Counsel Bob Dole, along with former U.S. Senator George McGovern, will receive the World Food Prize Laureate 2008 award for achievement in advancing human development by raising the quality and availability of food in the world. The McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program has provided food to 22 million children in 41 countries, and correspondingly boosting school attendance by approximately 14 percent. This year is the first time since the award was created that it has been presented to political leaders. Earlier recipients have been scientists recognized for improving crop products and expanding food supplies.

Senator Bob Dole appeared in Atlanta on October 14 at two Alston & Bird-sponsored events: The Alston & Bird/Cushman & Wakefield/UGA Terry School of Business CFO Roundtable and the American Institute for Managing Diversity’s Pursuing the Promise of Diversity Summit and Awards Luncheon. At both events, the Senator discussed the 2008 Presidential Election.

| Sept. 22 |
Senator Bob Dole is among the esteemed speakers at the 8th Annual Georgia Life Sciences Summit, to be held September 24, at the Georgia World Congress Center. The summit will feature more than 70 speakers discussing trends and issues, and showcasing the most advanced research and product developments in biomedicine, medical device, agriculture and bioenergy.

| Sept. 17 |
The Robert J. Dole Institute of Politics kicked off its “Potus 44” lecture series last week, with the program, “Obama vs. McCain: Campaign 2008,” featuring Republican strategist Joe Gaylord and Democratic political consultant Ray Strother analyzing this year’s historic run for the presidency. The Institute, which intends to promote civic dialogue and involvement in a nonpartisan way, has a plethora of similarly insightful discussions planned in the coming weeks, all the way through the November elections.

Senator Bob Dole will appear on Fox News Channel's Hannity & Colmes program tonight at 9 PM EST, to discuss Senator McCain's vice presidential selection.

| August 14 |
Senator Dole returned to Kansas last week to oversee a discussion on behalf of the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Leadership Project on Health Care, in a venue named after him: The Dole Institute of Politics, a facility that, according to the editorial, “strives to inspire others to follow his example of public service.”
Senator Dole was active in the discussion, and is expected to share his findings with former Sens. George Mitchell, Howard Baker and Tom Daschle in an effort to set a proper course for reforming the U.S. heath care system.
