Trudy Caraballo

Associate


Trudy Caraballo is an associate in the firm's Environmental & Land Development Group. Her practice concentrates on environmental litigation and regulatory matters, as well as complex commercial and products liability litigation.

Ms. Caraballo graduated from Duke University School of Law in 2008. While at Duke, she was a member of the Guantanamo Defense Clinic, where she assisted the chief defense counsel for a Guantanamo detainee with trial preparation before U. S. military commissions. Ms. Caraballo also served as a member of The Innocence Project, where she investigated plausible claims of wrongful conviction. She was a finalist in the 2007 Jessup Cup moot court competition and a member of the Black Law Students’ Association.

Ms. Caraballo graduated from Berkeley College in 2004 with a B.B.A., magna cum laude, in business administration with a concentration in management. She was the recipient of the 2004 Robert Maher Outstanding Student Award from her graduating class. Ms. Caraballo is a member of the State Bar of Georgia.

Representative Experience

  • Member of the trial team that successfully defended a Fortune 50 chemical manufacturer in products liability action brought by 1,400 plaintiffs seeking damages for injuries allegedly caused by exposure to the chemical isocyanates.
  • Member of the litigation team that obtained a defense verdict in a toxic tort case in Forsyth County, Georgia, brought by the spouse of a deceased mesothelioma victim alleging injuries as a result of exposure to asbestos.
  • Environmental counsel for the Carlyle Group in connection with its acquisition of a leading telecommunications equipment maker in North Carolina.
  • Represented clients in commercial real estate transactions.
