Yuri Horwitz is an associate in the Renewable Energy Group in Alston & Bird’s Washington, D.C., office. Yuri’s practice focuses on assisting clients to develop and finance renewable energy projects and monetize the resulting environmental attributes for localized and global markets.
Yuri received his J.D. in 2006 from the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was a member of the Moot Court and actively involved in pro bono representation for environmental non-profits. He graduated cum laude from the College of William & Mary in 2001 with a dual degree in environmental studies and government.
Yuri worked in the U.S. Geological Survey and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of International Affairs prior to becoming an attorney. At the EPA he assisted with project oversight and planning for a water quality project in both Ukraine and the Black Sea, and a sustainable water financing program in Kazakhstan.
