Alston & Bird's series on the repercussions of the financial crisis continued with a special seminar on the consumer protection proposals that have recently been circulated by the Obama administration and the House Financial Services Committee.  Attendees heard from Frank Hirsch and Dwight Smith, partners in the Financial Services and Products Group and Matt McGuire, partner in the Litigation and Trial Practice Group. The seminar covered the following topics.

  • What are the current trends and significant developments in consumer financial services litigation?
  • How will the reform proposals change the federal regime for consumer protection?
  • If the proposed changes take effect, how should I revise my compliance and litigation strategies?
