The Alston & Bird Corporate Cup has been an uptown Charlotte tradition for 30 years, celebrating healthy competition while giving back to the community. Approximately 2,500 runners ran or walked a 5K, half-marathon or relay half-marathon.
This year’s race featured a new twist: Alston & Bird partnered with the Arts & Science Council and Eat Charlotte to offer Corporate Cup participants special discounts at uptown museums, restaurants and cultural destinations. Runners showed their runner's bib or mentioned the Corporate Cup when making reservations or purchasing tickets.
The Corporate Cup was organized by the Childress Klein YMCA to raise money and support for YMCA Community Outreach, including literacy programs for children, assistance for families in crisis and English as a second language courses.
