Mark Kanaly presented, "Legal and Regulatory Issues," during this conference sponsored by Crowe Horwath. The presentation explored the future of the banking industry in the new regulatory framework, provided best practices for risk modeling and controls in the new banking environment, and addressed the impact of the Dodd Frank Act, Basel III, and other regulatory and operational challenges for banks in the years to come. Focusing on economic, regulatory, and operational factors, the presentation demonstrated the need for diversification of assets and revenue sources, the impact of risk monitoring on capital and earnings, capital markets and capital raising for banks, and consumer protection directives of the Dodd Frank Act.
