Alston & Bird kicked off the first session of its three-part webinar series on health care litigation on Thursday, February 23, 1pm-2pm. Mark Calloway, Angela Adams and Liz Riley provided an in-depth look at the Park Doctrine and the increasing risks of individual criminal liability and program exclusion for health care executives. The program covered how the recent applications of the doctrine by the Department of Justice (DOJ) and U.S. Department of Health & Human Services (HHS) have increased the risks of criminal liability in the absence of affirmative wrongful conduct. The panel also outlined proactive steps that health care executives can undertake to minimize their exposure.
