Jim Harvey and David Keating will be speakers at the International Privacy + Security Forum.
Jim Harvey spoke during the session “The New Frontier: Globalizing Your Cyber-Preparedness and Response.” With the advent of omnibus breach reporting requirements around the globe, including under the GDPR and Japan’s APPI (among others), multinational corporations have been forced to expand their cyber-preparedness and response planning to meet a multiplicity of new requirements. This development raises important legal, business, and logistical questions that can radically impact preparation and execution of global incident response planning and execution. The session was practically focused.
David Keating spoke during the session “GDPR Enforcement Countdown.” This panel featured an interactive discussion among panelists analyzing the impact of the GDPR on U.S. business and the extent to which the EU has established global standard benchmarks for data protection. The panel focused on impacts on the retail industry, e-commerce, and, more broadly, cloud computing and artificial intelligence technologies. It explored anticipated areas of emphasis in enforcement efforts, the impact of such developments, and recommended steps for organizations to take at the present time as part of broader readiness efforts.
The International Privacy + Security Forum breaks down the silos of privacy and security by bringing together seasoned thought leaders. Forum speakers engage the highly experienced audience in discussion, scenarios, and hands-on activities.
