The National Law Journal reports today that the First Union Corp. has hired Alston & Bird to handle its $16.3 billion bid to purchase CoreStates Financial Corp. of Philadelphia. Handling the bid from Alston & Bird are partners: John L. Douglas, Frank M. Conner, III, David E. Brown, Philip Cook and Craig Pett and associates Michael Stevens and
Robert Wood.
