Rick McDermott to Receive Recent Alumnus Award from Marquette University

On April 24, 2003, Alston & Bird partner Rick McDermott will be honored by his alma mater, Marquette University (B.S. 91, J.D. 94). At the upcoming Alumni National Awards Celebration, Rick will receive the Recent Alumnus Award from the university's law school in recognition of his outstanding achievement in his legal career as well as his ongoing service to Marquette University.

In addition to holding several leadership positions within the Charlotte community, McDermott currently serves as President of the Marquette University Alumni Association National Board of Directors, is a member of the Marquette University College of Engineering's National Advisory Council, and is a member of the Marquette University President's Council.
