Mary Benton, partner in the firm’s State and Local Tax Group, was selected by Atlanta Business Chronicle as one of 40 under 40 “Up & Comers.” The selection was based on two key areas: career success and leadership and achievements with civic and community causes. More than 270 nominations, identifying the successful and powerful leaders under age 40, were submitted.
Mary was selected based on her successful representation of such clients as Advanced Clearing Concepts in a case against the Georgia Department of Revenue as well as for her service on the board of the Taxation Section of the Atlanta Bar Association and as chair of the Georgia Department of Revenue Business Advisory Committee.
In the community Mary serves the Truancy Intervention Projects and is on the board of The Bridge. She also is active with Habitat for Humanity as a volunteer and board member.
