Jill Williamson Mentioned in Daily Report Article on Yemeni Detainees

Jill Williamson was mentioned in the March 17 Daily Report article titled, “Attorneys: Prisoners want to be repatriated.” Williamson, along with 33 other attorneys, has been representing Yemeni men detained at Guantanamo Bay. On March 12 she signed a statement to contest a U.S. government claim that 95 Yemenis are being held at Guantanamo Bay, because their attorneys oppose their repatriation to Yemen. The statement said, “We write to state clearly that our clients wish to be returned to their home country and that they do not raise any objections to repatriation based on fear of government-sanctioned torture upon their return to Yemen.”
