Alston & Bird Elects New Members to Its Partners’ Committee

Alston & Bird today announced the election of Atlanta partners Gerald L. (“Gary”) Mize, Jr. and Rick D. Blumen to serve on its partners’ committee, the governing body of the firm. 

 

The committee oversees the direction of the firm, is responsible for drafting firm-wide policies and business strategies, and guiding the firm in the competitive legal/business arena.  Members are elected to four-year terms on the committee.

 

Gary Mize co-leads the firm’s Litigation & Trial Practice, comprised of over 130 litigation attorneys firm-wide, and chairs the firm’s Insurance Litigation and Regulation Practice.  He has 22 years experience representing insurers, policyholders and intermediaries in insurance related litigation, regulatory and transactional matters.  He is a graduate of the University of Georgia.

 

Rick Blumen is co-leader of the firm’s Global Finance & Debt Products Practice and represents several large U. S. commercial and investment banks, private equity firms and Fortune 500 companies.  Mr. Blumen is a law graduate of The George Washington University.
